CUB SCOUT PACK 3979 IS RECRUITING! 1st through 5th grade boys, ages 7 to 10 are invited to join our program. We meet during the school year on Thursday evenings, 7 PM - 8 PM at the Congregational Church of Jefferson Park 5320 W. Giddings, Chicago (Giddings and London Streets just west of Milwaukee Ave.)

A note to parents: Scouting today, both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, brings to our children a few of those things so lacking in today's lifestyle. There is plenty of action in the Cub Scout program. Making things ... playing games ... working on projects .... building friendships that last through Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and beyond... Boys get away from TV and computer games and have fun with other scouts ... kite flying, pinewood derby races, field trips, outdoor activities to name just a few... But more than that - scouting brings them the old fashioned moral values that are so often overlooked today ... Sportsmanship The importance of honesty The joy of achievement The experience of failure And yes - we even mention God At the age of 10, the Cub Scouts enter into our excellent Webelos program which prepares them for our Scout Troop. This is always a big event in their lives ... joining a Scout Troop and starting on the road to Eagle Scout! Scouting has been good for our kids and for America for almost 100 years... and it still is! Come join and be part of the legacy of Scouting!!
