Our next Troop Committee meeting will be on Wednesday, December 13, at 8:00 PM. We hope that Steve Bujewski will be able to be with us so that we can start thinking about our Auction. Both he and Ken Schmucker, our assistant chairman, are subject to work schedules that often make it difficult for them to have certain evenings free, so we understand if they can't be with us.
Our Scout Good Turn was successful, since we filled more than 50 bags with leaves. Scouts who turned out to help us were Luke W. Ed S., Brian S., Tim and Greg S., Colin and Garrick S., Paul R., Dave O., Eric and Matt M., Brendon H., Andrew C., Bill C., Eric B. - then we also had Cal Bender, Kevin Houston, and Gail Reynolds, scout parents, and Tim H. Jim Heinlein and Doug Sanders were also there, with Doug handling the Schmucker leaf blower which made it easier to clean the leaves out of our landscaped area. Thanks to all for their help!
The Citizenship in the Nation merit badge classes will be held Saturday, December 9th and 16th, from 8:00 to 10:00 am. Scouts who need this badge for advancement are Chris M., Colin S., Mike S., Bryan S., and Doug R.
Ed S., Andrew C., Mike S., Brendon H., and Paul R. passed the Citizenship in the Community badge. Jeff K. needs to pass the test. Neither Peter U. nor Dan M. showed up for the badge sessions so they need to contact Russ to see how they can make it up. It's up to them.
Those Scouts going for Eagle and who have been made Instructors should get together with their wards and prepare them to pass morse code. Bill C. is doing his job as Scribe and Mark P. is doing his job as Quartermaster. The job of instructor was not given out as some sort of joke, fellows.
We are about one month away from the time when we must make our decision on going to Colorado summer camp next year. As has been stated again and again, we will not consider this unless there has been substantial movement towards advancement.
Small Things That Mean a Lot: Thanks to Anita Bender for getting our troop photo taken. It looks great!....also thanks to Francis O'Byrne for the Bull and Bear tickets that he has made available to our boys.....We will not have a meeting on Thursday, December 28th. Patrol leaders, how about having a patrol meeting over the holidays and getting some of that 1st class and 2nd class work done with your younger scouts.......Bryan Shea has turned 18 and leaves us as a scout. He is the 4th and final Shea. Bryan still will be with us as an assistant scoutmaster (if he fills out an application with Mr. Sanders - the same goes for Kyle Stich).....Ed S. and Andrew C. have passed receiving in Morse code....Jim A., Eric B., Bill C., Jeff C., Eric M., and Garrick S. passed the Camping part of the Camping Merit badge. Now they need to pass the Questions part with Russ. Tempus Fugit.
